In "Season's Cheatings" Luna mentioned that Lincoln helped her by stepping in to play tambourine at her last gig, so Luna felt she owes Lincoln a favor. Luna agreed to take part in Lincoln's scheming by exchange her gift with Lily, so Luna would purchase a Rip Hardcore backpack for Lincoln and Lily would give her painting to Leni as a gift. In "The Loudest Yard", Luna was so excited about Lincoln becoming a football star, she volunteered to play the national anthem on her brother's big match.
